Lombardi Pickled Chillies

Spanish chillies, pickled in England

Chilli freaks and those who enjoy a spicy kick will love these.

Hot Spanish chillies pickled in white wine vinegar with garlic, mustard seeds and juniper berries for a more rounded flavour.

Coming in many shapes, sizes, and varieties, the chilli is a pungent botanical fruit originating from the Americas and bought to the attention of the world by the great explorer Christopher Columbus.

With just enough heat to wake up the taste buds, a couple of these chillies will perk up any antipasti board and really bring a Mediterranean-style falafel wrap to life.

The Makers Story

The finest soils & fresh water springs

Creating fantastic antipasti in a jar is a real skill, and pickled vegetables are no exception. Making that wonderful spicey kick with just enough heat to wake up your taste buds and to maintain that wonderful crunch can be a challenge.

Interestingly we didn't head to the Mediterranean. We stayed a little more local and ended up talking to one of the oldest private family-owned food company's in the UK.

It is right in the heart of England’s cherry growing region, surrounded by some of the country’s finest soils and fresh chalk springs. We were shown round their base in Sittingbourne and their processes for producing high quality and unique products. It’s an impressive operation based on sustaining a friendly working environment, protecting its own local Kent heritage and provenance, and an emphasis on a close working relationship with its customers.

Sticklers for perfection, we were so impressed with their attention to flavour detail that we had to start our Makers & Merchants pickling adventure with them.
