Designed for dipping, our exclusive Bates Mini Dish also has oven proof qualities, which makes it perfect for incredible individual puddings be they chocolate or souffle.  It’s also handy for antipasti and serving our delicious Giant Olives.

All of our exclusive terracotta range is made by a family of 3rd generation Portuguese potters who’ve been hand-crafting ceramics since the 19th century.

The Makers Story

Insatiable passion for creating quality sauces

Once upon a time it was hard to imagine anything other than Heinz and HP gracing that small cluster of condiments on cafe and pub tables. And then along came our delicious sauces. It was never our intention for a condiment competition. We just had an indefatigable passion to add a bit of zing over here, and a bit more tang over there, as much to indulge our own taste buds as yours.

To bring our ideas alive we headed into the glorious British countryside and found a man of discerning tastes and an insatiable passion for creating quality sauces. To date he has created an extraordinary number of them and is on track to develop quite a few more.

Having founded his saucery a few years ago, just outside an old market town in the heart of East Anglia, the company was born from his own passionate belief that food should be free from all nasties, honest and amazingly delicious. He now employs a growing number of expert sauce makers to carefully find the best ingredients, and then cooks and simmers his recipes in small batches in the slow traditional manner. The result is an amazing array of flavours to tantalise the taste buds of sauce lovers the world over.

Makers and Merchants share his enormous energy for adventurous experimentation. Working to our own exclusive recipes, and with his expertise, together we have developed some really edgy twists and turns to popular Sauce classics.
